Stories of Faith, Growth, and Partnerships

March and April have been a season of deep encouragement as God continues to move among students, our families, and partners. From meaningful Bible studies and a student giving his life to Christ, to a new partnership with Globalscope, we see growing hunger for discipleship. At home and on the field, stories of faith are unfolding—from our child boldly expressing their beliefs to young athletes excelling. Our marriage ministry is strengthening couples through practical training, while the Kingsburys’ transition opens new community doors. We trust God to expand this work and invite you to partner with us in this journey.

Ministry Progress & Preparations for Nanyuki

February has been an encouraging month for Ukarimu Ministries. Our student fellowships are growing, with over 40 students regularly attending, and the launch of the Discovery Bible Study (DBS) has sparked strong interest. In our Marriage Ministry, couples have shown excitement for the upcoming training, with the first class beginning in March. Meanwhile, the Kingsburys are busy preparing for their retirement home in Nanyuki, sorting years of accumulated belongings and adjusting to a new season. We rejoice in God’s faithfulness as the ministry continues to thrive while our leaders step into this next chapter

A Furlough of Reconnection and Sharing

Chip and Chari’s recent U.S. trip has been both demanding and fruitful, as they travelled across multiple states reconnecting with friends, family, and ministry partners. The journey, though physically taxing, has provided meaningful opportunities to share about Ukarimu Ministries, raise support, and participate in missions engagements. From Thanksgiving gatherings to speaking at a missions conference and visiting supporting churches, each stop has strengthened relationships and encouraged the work back in Kenya. Grateful for good health and provision throughout, they look ahead to completing the remaining visits before returning, thankful for the continued partnership that sustains the ministry.

The Birth of Our Reality Check Mid-Journey Program

This year, we launched Reality Check Mid-Journey, a new marriage program for couples in mid-life, after an unexpected shift from our usual newlywed focus. What began with one interested couple grew into a group of committed participants seeking to strengthen their marriages. Through practical sessions on communication, conflict, values, parenting, and life transitions, couples engaged deeply and supported one another. The journey was impactful, with testimonies of restored relationships—including one couple who chose reconciliation. Encouraged by the feedback and growth witnessed, we look forward to refining and establishing this program as a regular offering for couples navigating mid-life together.

Lives Touched (Testimonies)

During the leadership transition and farewell, heartfelt reflections revealed the lasting impact of Ukarimu House across marriages, students, and leaders. Participants shared stories of healing, growth, and transformation—from restored relationships and strengthened marriages to personal breakthroughs and leadership development. Many described Ukarimu as a place of honesty, mentorship, and deep spiritual formation that shaped their lives in meaningful ways. Students found peace, purpose, and guidance, while couples experienced renewal and equipping for ministry. These testimonies reflect a legacy that continues to influence families, churches, and communities, as Ukarimu steps into a new chapter of discipleship, mentorship, and generational impact.

Ukarimu Ministries’ Leadership Transition

On August 23, Ukarimu Ministries celebrated a milestone—the installation of new leadership as the Kingsburys stepped down from day-to-day ministry. Surrounded by friends, family, alumni, and partners, we witnessed God’s faithfulness in raising up new leaders:

Ian & Stella Orunga as Directors

Barnabas & Grace Achoki as Marriage and Family Ministries Coordinators

Amanda Kingsbury Mugwe as Partnership Liaison

It was a day of reflection, gratitude, and anticipation for the new season ahead. Please keep our leaders and the ministry in prayer as we continue to pursue our vision of transforming lives and transforming communities.
